Photographic requirements for new construction are largely self-imposed. The primary goal is, of course, to please the client. Whether they are a construction company, architecture firm, or property owner, the building has to look good. For the architect or builder, this means presenting the building as they intended it, not as how I think it should look. Understanding the lighting, the flow of the rooms and the feel of the structure all play into the presentation. There is usually time to visit these buildings beforehand and determine the best time of day and weather conditions for a return trip. If it's in the cards, a clear blue sky with puffy white clouds is hardly ever a bad thing. Sunrise and sunset can also lead to great exterior shots. Again, the building makes the call on how it should be presented.
